LIGIER Group shares its feedback on post–“go-live” support following the deployment of the Oxalys SQM solution.

In addition to its efforts focused on production tools, LIGIER Group has chosen to modernize the business processes of its support functions, particularly in the area of procurement, by deploying an SRM Source-to-Contract solution.

Testimonial from Alain Legal (Buyer and SRM Project Manager) and Vincent Louis (Purchasing Director).

For nearly four decades, Ligier Group has established itself as a leading French manufacturer, recognized for its expertise and its commitment to customer satisfaction. Born from the merger in 2008 of two flagship brands in the light quadricycle (microcar) sector, Automobiles Ligier and Microcar, the Group is now the European market leader in light quadricycles, with over 40% market share. A true pillar of the French automotive industry, Ligier Group is proud to manufacture all of its vehicles in France. Agile, innovative, and deeply committed to quality, the Group continues to push boundaries to deliver mobility solutions tailored to the needs of its customers.

Project context and focus on post–“go-live” support

The objective of the deployment was to provide Ligier Group’s Purchasing Department with an e-sourcing tool enabling, among other things, to:

  • manage the supplier panel (both prospective and approved suppliers)
  • manage supplier evaluations
  • manage the item master data
  • consolidate data carried by the ERP
  • manage the capitalization of information by commodity for category buyers
  • manage sourcing related to new projects in a coordinated manner between project buyers and category buyers

All of this while taking into account a purchasing organization structured both by project and by commodity.

We interviewed Vincent Louis and Alain Legal from LIGIER Group:

Alain, how did the go-live phase of your procurement solution go, and more specifically the support that followed the implementation?
The period following the go-live was extremely beneficial for us. We started with a Regular Service Verification (RSV) phase, which allowed us to confirm that the sourcing solution met our expectations. At that time, my role was to act as a link between my colleagues and Oxalys SQM, consolidating their feedback in order to follow up with Oxalys SQM’s support team. It was a very smooth collaboration.

And once this RSV period was over, how did the support evolve?
After the RSV phase, exchanges continued on a regular basis. My role as a coordinator took on a different form, as we identified areas for improvement during the day-to-day use of the platform. This feedback was shared with Oxalys so that it could be integrated into the solution’s development roadmap, allowing us to contribute to the evolution of the sourcing tool so that it would better match our needs.

From a support quality standpoint, how would you describe your experience?
One of Oxalys SQM’s strengths lies in its in-depth understanding of our business. The project manager dedicated to our account was able to understand our needs very precisely, which made it possible to prioritize and deliver the necessary enhancements with great responsiveness. What particularly stood out to us was the importance Oxalys SQM places on user adoption. They are always attentive to “field” feedback and ensure that every user finds the solution simple and efficient.

Vincent, as Purchasing Director, how do you assess the long-term relationship with Oxalys?
We were aware that a digital transformation project in the procurement field is a long-term process, like any continuous improvement initiative. Our procurement processes, particularly those related to production, are complex, combining project-based purchasing with category-based purchasing. What Alain highlights is fundamental: listening, agility, and responsiveness are key elements. Oxalys was able to adapt to our pace, and we consistently felt that the solution was evolving in line with our needs, which makes the support particularly valuable. This project to digitalize our supplier relationship management is not an isolated step, but rather a journey that we are progressing through gradually with Oxalys’ support in order to maximize long-term benefits.
